Since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, we have been thrust into the age of AI with new chatbots, text-to-image converters, and even text-to-video generators springing onto the scene. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, also has its own AI ambitions and, as such, offers a slew of features across its product stack.
For instance, users in the US can interact with Meta AI from inside Meta’s apps like WhatsApp and Instagram all by starting a new chat with or mentioning Meta AI with @MetaAI in group chats. In addition to features like answering queries and generating images, Meta AI can also generate stickers from prompts, search the web, and is even getting the ability to edit images on Instagram in a future update.
Apparently, Meta is making it even easier to use Meta AI inside WhatsApp. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp users may soon be able to interact with Meta AI without having to start a new chat. WABetaInfo reports, per WhatsApp for Android beta update 2.24.7.14, that a feature that would allow users to ask Meta AI queries directly from the app’s search bar is currently under development.
In essence, users who want to ask Meta AI something can simply write their query in the search bar. WhatsApp will then give the option to run the prompt under the “Ask Meta AI” title below the search bar. Additionally, it appears that the app will also suggest a number of other prompts that users might want to execute.
Suffice it to say, the new feature when it is available on the retail version of the app will make the process of using Meta AI quite a bit more streamlined.
