One of the most popular messaging apps, WhatsApp, has introduced a new design update for Android users. Although the latest update doesn't offer any revolutionary changes, it does aim to make the app easy to use. The update puts the top navbar on the bottom, making it easier to reach. More specifically, the position change is to make the bar stay "closer to your thumbs."
This new update has even redesigned the navigation bar. While the past version had a default green background, it's now white on the newer WhatsApp Android app. Another thing to note is that the new navbar has four sections as before, but the orders have changed, and each has an icon. Also, in the new version, Status is now called "Updates."
As WhatsApp describes, it changed the order of the sections to "make it easier to access" what the users need. But, yes, it will take some time for those who got used to the old navbar to adapt to the new bar. Besides all these, the new navigational bar has the same functionality as the last one. You can check out the change from the tweet embedded below.
Regarding the rollout, the update has already reached some regions before the official announcement. WhatsApp is now rolling it out to more users worldwide. But as it is rolling out in waves, it can take a couple of days for everyone to get the new navbar. If you don't have it yet, it's worth checking if your app is updated to the latest version from the Google Play Store.
