As the name already suggests, the TP-Link Omada EAP772-Outdoor is a new outdoor version of the EAP772 and offers similar performance with an IP68-certified, dustproof and waterproof design. According to TP-Link, this makes the router perfect for extending an existing network into an outdoor area.
Furthermore, this WiFi 7 router can be mounted on either a pole or a wall. Power is supplied via an Ethernet cable, which also allows the router to be hardwired to a network with up to 2.5 Gbps. It’s also compatible with mesh networks, which can combine multiple routers to cover an even larger area. A single Omada EAP772-Outdoor unit can supposedly cover areas of up to 3,200 sq ft.
Since the router can handle up to 380 devices at once, it is also suitable for public networks. The tri-band router operates on the 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz frequency bands and supports the latest WiFi 7 standard with data speeds of up to 9.3 Gbps. With TP-Link's Omada SDN Software, the router can be set up with just one click when expanding an existing network, and a smartphone app is available for monitoring the network.
