Although its specs are not official yet, most chances are that the upcoming Vivo IQOO Pro 5G will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor. The latest teaser by Vivo reveals the "Monster Inside" text on the back of the phone and nothing more. This handset should be unleashed upon China by the end of August.

Not long after the release of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-powered IQOO Neo — which is nothing else but a watered-down IQOO — Vivo's sub-brand is almost ready to launch its first 5G handset. Unfortunately, the latest teaser only reveals that we should get ready for a device that holds a monster inside — most likely a reference to the top-of-the-line processor that will be used, although no name has been specified.

In the worst-case scenario, the "Monster Inside" text that can be seen on the back of the unit shown in Vivo's teaser is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. The other obvious choice is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus. The use of other processor is very unlikely, so there is no point in making any speculations yet.

A few weeks ago, Vivo certified a 5G handset with the model number V1916A. The CCC listing that surfaced back then only revealed that this device supports 44 W fast charging. Remains to see if the V1916A is the Vivo IQOO Pro 5G, which is supposed to launch by the end of August.

Just like its predecessors, the Vivo IQOO Pro 5G should not be expected to become available outside China anytime soon. In its home market, this handset will have to compete against the Huawei Mate 20 X 5G — which can be acquired for the equivalent of US$900 — and other upcoming 5G handsets, like the Xiaomi MIX 4 5G.
