Vecnos, a spin-off from Ricoh, has announced that it will release its first product soon. It will be a 360-degree camera that may compete with similar devices from GoPro or Insta360. However, this one may come in a much more portable form-factor.

Vecnos is a new company based on the team that developed 360-degree cameras for Ricoh. Therefore, its first product could be said to be a successor to the Theta SC2 when it comes out. However, the spin-off asserts that this device will improve on its series in terms of design and ease of use.

In fact, this camera's official render suggests that it may take up not much more space than a small remote control. Vecnos asserts that it will pack the company's proprietary 4-lens optical system, which places 1 of these components on the top of the device.

Vecnos has also made an app to manage the upcoming camera's images and video. However, it has yet to reveal any more specs for this product, although it is apparently to become available in 2020. Therefore, it is yet to be seen how this new 360-degree camera may compete with more established series such as the Insta360 or GoPro Max.
