Prices start at $1800 USD for the lower-end model with a ULV Core i5-6267U CPU, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, and 13.3-inch 2560 x 1440 resolution touchscreen.

Though far off the radar, the Vaio Z Canvas has been available for quite some time as an alternative to the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. The Vaio brand is now making a comeback in the U.S. in the convertible segment with a series of flagship Flip SKUs starting with the VJZ13BX0311B, VJZ13BX0211B, and VJZ13BX0111B for $1800, $2000, and $2400 USD, respectively. The least expensive model will carry an ultra-low voltage Core i5-6267U CPU with integrated Intel Iris Graphics 550 while the two costlier configurations will have the faster Core i7-6567U.

Other specifications include 8 GB to 16 GB of RAM and a 256 GB or 512 GB SSD depending on the SKU. All versions, however, will come with 13.3-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440 resolution) touchscreen and a digitizer stylus. The base model will run Windows 10 Home 64-bit compared to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit on the latter two SKUs.

Wireless and connectivity features include WLAN 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.1, SD reader, 2x USB 3.0, HDMI, 3.5 mm audio, TPM, and two integrated cameras (8 MP rear, 1 MP front). While battery capacity is not listed, the manufacturer advertises up to 11.5 hours of battery life for the higher end SKUs.

Our last review on a Vaio Flip was two years ago with an older Haswell processor. Impressions weren't the best considering the price range and average build quality, so this Skylake refresh should prove especially interesting.
