LG G5 has been in the rumor mill for a while and now its official launch is less than two weeks away. According to a recent official teaser, this next-gen flagship will feature an always-on display, one similar to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 flagships. Unfortunately, it looks like LG's high-end handset will not feature the same AMOLED display technology as its direct competitor, but that remains to be seen.
The teaser posted by LG Mobile on Twitter does not reveal much, but Android Authority's sources claim the screen of the LG G5 will be literally always on. On the other hand, existing handsets with always-on capabilities like the Nexus 6P or the Moto X only show the info when the user performs certain gestures. The same source also reveals that, instead of an AMOLED display, the LG G5 will employ a full-size version of the secondary display currently used by the LG V10.
LG G5 will officially launch on February 21st, but we will surely hear more about it until then. As soon as that happens, we will get back to it as well, so stay tuned.
