Casio has announced that it will shortly release its new G-Shock DW-5900UBB-1 and DW-5900U-1 watches in the UK. These updated versions of older watches were unveiled in Japan at the start of January 2026.
The Casio DW-5900U watches are equipped with new modules. While the older DW-5900-1 and DW-5900BB-1 models use the 3465 module, the upgraded models use the 3536 module. Plus, they are equipped with more efficient backlights; the latest versions have LED Super Illuminator rather than Electro-luminescent backlights.
The Casio G-Shock DW-5900UBB-1 is an all black watch, with a resin casing and strap. The main LCD display has a black background and contrasting light figures, while the Triple Graph has the usual light background. The DW-5900U-1 also has a black resin casing and strap, though it has red, blue and white accents. Plus, the displays are reversed, with a light main display and a dark background Triple Graph.
Features of the DW-5900 include support for world time, a stopwatch, time and multiple daily alarms. They are marketed as accurate to within 15 seconds each month, with the time, date and day of the week shown on the larger display. Plus, these shock resistant watches are water resistant to 200 m and should run for 10 years on a CR2025 battery.
At the Casio online store in the UK, the DW-5900UBB-1 and DW-5900U-1 watches are each listed with an £80 RRP. They are set for release later in January 2026, though the exact launch date is not specified. Instead, prospective customers are invited to “sign up now” via a button on the product page to receive an email notification at launch. It is unclear when the Casio G-Shock DW-5900UBB-1 and DW-5900U-1 watches will be released more widely in Europe or in the US.
