Upcoming Sega game free to play ahead of launch

Sega is giving players the opportunity to try out its upcoming management simulator, Football Manager 27, completely free of charge ahead of its official release. Developed by British studio Sports Interactive, the latest installment in the long-running franchise is scheduled to launch on November 10, 2026. However, players don't have to wait until then to get started, with a free early access period running from October 29 to November 3.
The free trial provides access to the entire game rather than a restricted demo, allowing gamers to experience its management systems and gameplay before deciding whether to purchase it. The promotion is available via Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store on PC. Unfortunately, despite the game also being planned for PS5 and Xbox Series X, console players are excluded from this particular offer. Importantly, progress made during the free period will carry over if players subsequently purchase the game.
Following the promotion, Football Manager 27 will enter a paid early access period on November 3, lasting until its November 10 release. Unlike EA Sports FC, which focuses on the football matches themselves, Sports Interactive's series centers on managing football clubs, including the strategic decisions involved in running a team.
