Ugreen has recently launched a new KVM switch with HDMI 2.0 and numerous other ports. A month after its release, the accessory that is designed for using two computers with a single monitor is available at a notable discount on Amazon.

Users who would like to use two computers, such as a desktop PC and a laptop, on one external monitor with peripherals might want to invest into a KVM switch. Some modern monitors already have a corresponding built-in feature, but a gadget such as Ugreen’s new HDMI 2.0 KVM switch can serve the same exact purpose.

This practical accessory has now been put on sale at Amazon. To be more exact, the manufacturer is currently granting a discount of 20% relative to the official list price of $49.99. This results in a sale price of $40 and $10 in savings, but users have to manually activate the coupon on Amazon’s product page. Consequently, the Ugreen product matches its record-low price according to Camelcamelcamel.

The new HDMI KVM switch from Ugreen has two ports per PC. In addition to HDMI 2.0 for video output at up to 4K and 60Hz, a USB-A port is available as well. A simple button press is enough to switch between the two connected computers. This button can be found directly on the KVM switch as well as on a special desktop controller that is attached to a 1.5m mini-USB cable.

The third HDMI 2.0 port on the side of the KVM switch should be connected to the monitor. Moreover, there are USB 3.0 Type-A and Type-C ports that support data speeds of up to 5Gbit/s and can come in handy when using external storage devices or a webcam.

Last but not least, there are two USB 2.0 Type-A ports with up to 480 Mbit/s that round off the connectivity options on the new Ugreen HDMI KVM switch. These slower ports can be used to hook up a mouse and keyboard, which means that these peripherals don’t have to be reconnected when changing between two computers. Alternatively, the switch can also be used with gaming consoles or even TV boxes, in which case the HDMI 2.0 limitations should be kept in mind as some of these devices already sport HDMI 2.1.
