Reviews for the Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7901
Source: CNet Archive.org version
The Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7901 gives you a decent-looking 17-inch desktop replacement for less than $600, with all the necessary ports and connections for average day-to-day use. If the bigger screen isn't a must-have, for the same price, you can get the HP G60-235DX, a 15-inch retail model with better performance, battery life, and a larger hard drive. For maximum screen at minimal price, however, the Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7901 is one of the only games in town. If you need inexpensive computing power in a 17-inch desktop-replacement size, the Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7901 is one of your only options

ATI Radeon HD 3100: Slower clocked Radeon HD 3200 onboard graphic chip with a reduced feature set (missing HD video decoding features?). Beware: Under Windows XP the HD 3200 may have no 2D acceleration because of a driver problem.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

Similar to the Turion X2 CPU, but with reduced power saving functions (no deep sleep, only 2 instead of 3 P-states). Compareable to a 1.3-1.9 GHz Core 2 Duo (depending on the application).

This range for display formats was and is a rarity. It is larger than the general standard of 15 inches, but not yet in the range of large workstations. One usually has higher screen resolutions available, but portability suffers from that.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.3.2 kg:
A laptop with this weight is comparatively heavy and less designed for mobility than for use at the desk. Therefore, the devices tend to shine less with battery life than with a large screen and higher performance.

60%: Such a poor rating is rare. There are only a few notebooks that were rated even worse. The rating websites do not give a purchase recommendation here.
