The Titan 2 Elite is one of the smallest smartphones around with a physical keyboard. Now, Unihertz has confirmed that new versions of its latest compact smartphone are on the horizon with updated keyboard layouts.

A few months have passed since Unihertz released the Titan 2 Elite series. For context, the company brought its latest compact smartphones to Kickstarter in March. However, it took until May before offering the device directly.

Now, it has announced a major hardware update for the Titan 2 Elite. To recap, the smartphone combines a 4.03-inch AMOLED display with a 4,050 mAh battery and the Dimensity 7400 we tested in last year's Razr 60 (curr. $549.99 on Amazon). Alternatively, Unihertz sells the Titan Elite 2 Pro, which adds a more powerful Dimensity 8400 chipset and an optically stabilised primary camera.

With that said, both leverage a QWERTY keyboard to mimic classic BlackBerry phones. Writing on X, Unihertz has revealed that it has created AZERTY and QWERTZ versions for French and German speakers, respectively. Described as a 'first look', Unihertz has not provided any further details yet.

In the meantime, it has encouraged fans to share their thoughts and preferences. As a result, it seems that Unihertz may be willing to make some changes before committing to AZERTY and QWERTZ releases. Currently, it is unclear whether these new keyboard layouts will be coming to the Titan 2 Elite Pro too, which is not due to begin shipping until December 2026.
