Honor launches affordable phone with 8,560mAh battery and AMOLED display

Honor has launched a rebadged affordable phone that packs a relatively large battery: the X9e S. Of course, the rated capacity is lower than the recently released X9e Pro, but the former is a bit more affordable.
The Honor X9e S features a rated battery capacity of 8,560 mAh, and the company promises up to 3 days of runtime on a single charge. There's support for reverse charging, which will allow users to take proper advantage of the large battery, and the phone has 80W fast charging support (140W Anker B2697 charger curr. $79.99 on Amazon).
Under the hood, the phone has the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, a mid-range SoC from 2025. Honor has paired it with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There's a 6.79-inch AMOLED display on the front, and Honor claims that it has a typical brightness rating of 800 nits, which should be good enough for comfortable viewing under different lighting conditions.
This display has a resolution of 2,640x1,200 pixels, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. Honor further notes that it has multiple comfort-focused technologies and that the phone has undergone rigorous durability tests, including 2.5m drops.
There's nothing fancy going on in the camera department. The Honor X9e S has a 50MP primary sensor on the back, which is paired with a 5MP ultrawide. On the front, the phone features a 16MP selfie shooter.
Other highlights include IP66, IP68, and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings, a dual-speaker setup, and availability in three color options. All these specs match those of the Honor Turbo, which launched in Russia, and even the design is the same. So, it's safe to say that the X9e S is basically a rebadged device for a different market.
In the Middle East, Honor is offering this affordable phone in one configuration only, and it costs SAR 1,499, about $399. It could reach other markets soon, possibly under a different name.
