The NZXT Function Elite MiniTKL gaming keyboard was launched in January this year as the company’s first gaming keyboard with magnetic switches. As the name suggests, it is a compact mini-TKL wired keyboard that boasts most of the latest features the keyboard industry has been raving about. NZXT Function Elite MiniTKL features and specifications
Starting with the switches, the keyboard uses the company’s in-house magnetic hot-swappable switches with Hall effect sensors. These allow 40 points of actuation ranging between 0.6 mm and 4.0 mm. It also comes with Rapid Trigger, Snap Overrides, and 2-in-1 actions. Though it is a wired keyboard, the NZXT Function Elite MiniTKL supports 8K polling rate. The case is made from aircraft-grade CNC aluminum that houses the gasket mount design. It also comes with screw-in stabilizers, dual-rail switches, and a foam layer for consistent and smooth keystrokes.
The NZXT Function Elite MiniTKL uses Doubleshot PBT keycaps and the lettering shows off the customizable RGB lighting. Along with per-key lighting, there is also 45-LED perimeter lighting that can be customized through the NZXT CAM software. The solid build quality is evident in the weight as it comes in at just over 1 kg. The compact form factor allows for a lot more room for mouse movements.
In our hands-on review, we found that the switches feel very stable, making everything feel precise and streamlined. The overall performance is great with typing feeling soft without compromising on feedback.
