Courtesy of an ongoing sale on Lenovo's official US online store, the well-equipped Yoga 7 2-in-1 14-inch laptop is currently enjoying a rather generous discount of $390, bringing its price down to just under $850.
This specific variant of the Yoga 7 laptop sports the capable 8-core AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 APU, paired with 16 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM, as well as a 1 TB SSD. A good-looking 14-inch 1200p OLED display is also on offer.
The Lenovo Yoga 7 offers plenty of performance for daily tasks
While the 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350 "Krackan Point" APU is far from a powerhouse, it is quite a capable chip. Featuring 4 Zen 5 cores and 4 Zen 5 C cores, the 8-core APU keeps up with the 11-core Apple M3 Pro in multi-core synthetic benchmarks. A slower variant with the Intel Core Ultra 5 258V CPU is also present, but that variant is slower by over 35%.
The lack of discrete graphics is unsurprising. However, the RDNA 3.5-based Radeon 860M iGPU is no slouch and should be able to pull off respectable frame rates in low-end titles and other graphically non-intensive tasks. Performance-wise, the Lenovo Yoga 7 laptop should be more than enough for most people with casual workloads.
Our in-depth review of the Yoga 7 laptop presents an equally promising picture. We were quite satisfied with the overall performance of the system and found its noise and heat emissions to be perfectly tolerable as well.
OLED display with great color reproduction, mediocre brightness
We also found the display on offer to be quite decent. The 1920x1200 pixel OLED display sports nearly 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, with ΔE of around 2.1 out of the box. However, brightness seems to peak at only around 360 nits. The display refreshes at a mediocre 60 Hz, which is also quite disappointing. Touch support is present, for those who care.
Unfortunately, the memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded in the future. The SSD is upgradable, although the laptop's M.2 2242 slot will not be able to accommodate 2280 cards, which are much more common.
Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi 7, a 5 MP IR front camera with privacy shutter, as well as a healthy selection of ports including HDMI, microSD, and dual USB-C (10 Gbps, DisplayPort, Power Delivery).
At its current price, the Lenovo Yoga 7 2-in-1 14" laptop definitely sports a lot of bang for the buck.
