The new EBO Max robot is like a Furby that follows you around

The self-proclaimed "Family Robotics" company, Enabot, has just announced a cute little robot companion designed to help families in a variety of ways. Whether it's checking in on pets, setting reminders, or taking video calls, the EBO Max handles these tasks in the most adorable way possible. However, while looks are certainly a big part of the EBO Max, what it has under the hood is equally fascinating.
As a roaming home surveillance bot, the EBO Max is equipped with many robust sensors and wheels to help it navigate the home. For optics, the EBO Max has an 8MP 4K wide-angle camera on board that can shoot both photos and videos, and can be used for video calls via the companion app. Supporting both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, the EBO Max aims to achieve full home coverage to execute programmed routines and adaptive autonomous tasks. Powering the setup is a 2500mAh battery, which EBO Max will automatically recharge when it starts to run low. Another interesting feature is EBO Max's ability to detect injured family members and alert the rest of the household. However, while that type of feature is useful, it will be interesting to see how it plays out in practice.
Currently, the EBO Max is on pre-order for $549 on the Enabot site, $50 off the MSRP when it releases later this year, putting the EBO Max squarely in the middle ground of Enabot's current robot lineup. However, pre-orders will end on May 7th, so anyone interested can find more information on the EBO Max linked in the resources below.
