The well-known gaming equipment manufacturer Roccat was acquired by the US company Turtle Beach in 2019 to strengthen its presence in the gaming market. Five years after the acquisition, Roccat has been discontinued. However, the most popular Roccat products will continue to be available, albeit not under the Roccat brand.

Roccat was one of the leading manufacturers of gaming peripherals in Germany. In 2019, the company was acquired by Turtle Beach – a US firm primarily focused on gaming headsets at the time – for $19.2 million. The acquisition was aimed at expanding Turtle Beach's product range and strengthening its presence in the gaming market. However, things did not go as planned, and Turtle Beach has decided to discontinue the Roccat brand.

There is no official statement on the end of Roccat. The information comes from a Roccat FAQ section on the Turtle Beach website. When asked what has become of Roccat, the company responds as follows:

We felt that time and resources were best spent focusing on a single brand and developing a range of products that matter most to gamers. While we will be discontinuing the ROCCAT brand, many of the iconic product lines such as Vulcan, Kone, Burst and Sense will continue under the Turtle Beach brand. [...] We have launched some groundbreaking new products as well as Turtle Beach branded versions of popular ROCCAT products that will remain.

Roccat may be history, but the most popular products will be carried on by Turtle Beach. One example of this is the former Roccat gaming mouse Kone XP Air which now features a Turtle Beach logo.

Technical support for users of Roccat peripherals will continue, for which the company has merged the support pages for Turtle Beach and Roccat devices. The Roccat Swarm software for configuring mice, keyboards and headsets will not disappear either. On the contrary: Turtle Beach has announced that it will release a completely new Swarm II software in spring 2024.
