As one of the first Chinese smartphone makers that produced cheap phones for price-conscious consumers worldwide, Elephone does not have a history of great smartphone design. However, things started to change this year, for instance with the introduction of the elePhone S7, a phone that blatantly copied the design of the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge while staying under $200. However, that was only the beginning, it seems.
Yesterday, Elephone posted a picture on their twitter page, revealing the design of their upcoming elePhone S8 smartphone, that will apparently be quite innovative. Not only will the S8 continue to use curved edges similar to the elePhone S7 before it, Elephone also tried to take on Sharp and Xiaomi with a triple bezel-less design by removing the upper edge as well. Just keep in mind that, so far, this design is just a concept. The phone does not really exist yet.
However, Elephone is trying to push things even further and promised to be the first to feature a new design for the fingerprint sensor and the back camera as well. While many of the design-choices will be new, the specs will remain true to Elephone's past by integrating a deca-core processor which can only come from long Elephone's time partner MediaTek. If Elephone succeeds in bringing the S8 to market, it better be more resilient to accidental drops. The Xiaomi Mix apparently is too easy to break due to its slim edges and ceramic case.
