Ham radio operators have a nightly opportunity to connect with Santa over the Santa Net until December 24th. Operators have the 3916 Nets team to thank for this rare opportunity.

From now until December 24th, operators have the opportunity to talk to Santa on the 3.916MHz Santa Net. The project, hosted by the 3916 Nets, is the team's 16th consecutive year hosting this exciting program. The Santa Net works by relaying Santa's voice using strategically placed operators to make contact with "Santa at the North Pole." To participate, operators can check on the Santa Nets' website at 6:30 PM CT with the broadcast at 7 PM CT. The website even offers a live stream of the broadcast for those who do not have a radio.

For many, this program has provided an unforgettable holiday experience, and participation has grown significantly since it started. Pete Thomson, a member of the 3916 Net, said, "In our first year, we connected ten kids to Santa on Ham Radio, and it's grown steadily since. This year, we're expecting over 1,000 children to participate." In addition to providing some holiday cheer, the Santa Net project aids in the team's efforts to introduce the excitement of amateur radio to younger audiences.

The 3916 Nets, also known as "the friendliest nets in all of ham radio," is the proud collaborative effort of the Rag Chew Crew, The Tailgaters Net, and The Freewheelers, all of which meet on the 3.916 MHz band nightly. It should also be noted that third-party rules and regulations apply to this contact. For more information, to check-in, or to share your experience with the Santa Net, kindly visit the link below.
