The Nexpaq smartphone case is highly customizable

Teaser
A Kickstarter project, Nexpaq, aims to give users the ability to attach modules with different functions to their smartphones.

Kickstarter has been a great source of innovation for mobile technology by helping companies that may not otherwise exist to produce and sell products. Nexpaq is one of these small companies, and the case that the they plan to sell is very unique. The case itself contains a 1000 mAh battery to begin with. Beyond this, the case is fully customizable. They have created twelve different modules, all with different functionalities, that attach to the case and connect to an app that users can control.

Some standouts include an SD card reader, extra battery module, 64GB of flash storage, and even a breathalyzer. Users can make use of up to six modules in the case, yet some, such as the extra battery and amplified speaker, take up more space. Even still, the case provides a huge amount of added abilities and each person can tailor the case to his or her liking. Nexpaq is also opening their case up to developers, and one of the backing rewards is an SDK for $75 for those hoping to create apps and modules for future Nexpaq cases.

The Nexpaq will most likely release early next year for the Apple iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S5, and Galaxy S6 Edge. Backing the project on Kickstarter starts at $1, but to receive a case and four of the modules, it costs $89. Considering some phone cases only include a small battery and not much else for the same price, the Nexpaq modular case is quite a compelling accessory.
