LG has just introduced its revolutionary Wing smartphone to the Indian market. The display-swiveling device has been joined there by a 4G/LTE version of the Velvet. This variant swaps its normal Snapdragon 765G processor for an 845 SoC. The two phones will start to become available from October 30, 2020.

LG India has announced a debut for the Wing and Velvet smartphones. Therefore, consumers will be able to get their hands on what may be 2020's most innovative mobile form-factor so far. They also have access to a whole new version of its new companion, as it has the 2018 flagship processor the Snapdragon 845 in place of the 765G.

It is not clear why LG has changed the Velvet's SoC for this new market-specific variant, although it may have helped keep its cost down: it is priced at 36,900 INR (~US$497) with its Dual Screen accessory. It also lacks the eye-catching Sunset Red colorway from the original Korean launch, being offered in Aurora Silver or New Black in its new market.

The Wing, on the other hand, still rocks the 765G and goes for 69,990 INR (~$898). It will be released on October 30, 2020, whereas the Velvet 4G will go live on November 9 instead. Both new phones will be sold via the bigger online or physical retailers in India on these dates.
