With just a few weeks to go until the start of the 2015 edition of the Mobile World Congress, Huawei announced that its P8 smartphone will not be unveiled at the popular event. Huawei manager Jie Jinjin publicly stated that the company will officially unveil the P8 on April 15 in London at a dedicated press event.
Rumors suggest that the Huawei P8 smartphone could come with specs such as a 5.2-inch display running a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels (Full HD), a Kirin 930 chipset with an octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 13MP primary camera with optical image stabilization. As with previous members of the P-series, the P8 is said to come with a thin profile without trading off battery life.
According to Jinjin, Huawei decided to unveil its upcoming smartphone in Europe because the company sells a lot of high-end devices on the continent, compared to poorer results in the United States. Furthermore, the top Huawei executive announced that the manufacturer will not release any Windows Phone or Windows 10 smartphones this year. The company official stated that the strict guidelines that Microsoft enforces on manufacturers don't allow for any method of differentiation between the various handsets available in the Windows ecosystem. It looks like Huawei will keep true to the Android camp for now.
