The Honor Magic 2 sells out in only 2 days post-release
The Honor Magic 2 distinguishes itself by being the only non-OPPO phone to use the sliding display mechanism and the only non-Huawei Mate 20 device to be powered by the Kirin 980 7-nanometer processor to date. This phone also has triple rear cameras in the front and rear of the display, an in-display fingerprint scanner and a new type of AI assistant ('YOYO'). All this novelty appears to have made it very popular in China, the only market in which the Magic 2 is currently available.
In fact, its seems this brand-new phone is so sought-after that GizChina has reported that all the major physical retail stores are out of units for sale already. GizChina also implied that hopeful customers queued out the doors of these outlets in the hope of getting their hands on a new Magic 2.
The phone also took less than 5 minutes to sell out in its first pre-order event, according to other reports. This event took place on November 1, 2018, 5 days before its official release in Beijing. It would be interesting to see if the Honor Magic 2 could replicate its apparent success if it were to be released in any other markets.
