CES 2015 | The Blu Studio Energy is a budget Android smartphone with a 5000mAh battery
If you're one to place autonomy above extreme thinness, the BLU Studio Energy is one Android smartphone that you should pay some attention to. The main highlight of the device is a monstrous-sized 5000 mAh battery, one that should last up to four days of standard usage according to the manufacturer. The BLU Studio Energy also comes with Reverse Charge, a feature that allows the smartphone to act like an external power bank, able to charge other devices.
The manufacturer was able to fit a 5000 mAh battery into a body that's just 10 mm thick. In a market where the race for new smartphone thinness records seems to prevail in front of battery life achievements, the BLU Studio Energy is directly aimed at those who would rather see the thinness trend reverting.
The BLU Studio Energy comes with specs such as a 5-inch laminated IPS display with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor of currently unknown architecture, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of integrated storage space, or a microSD card slot that accepts cards of up to 64GB in size. In the camera department, the Studio Energy is equipped with an 8MP primary sensor and a 2MP front-facing camera. The Android 4.4 KitKat smartphone also comes with dual SIM support.
The Blu Studio Energy will launch later this January with Amazon and other retailers. The smartphone will be available in black, white, and gold, and will be priced at $179.00.
