The Blackview S8 comes with quad cameras and a bezel-less display
It's an all-out race to the full-screen display peak at the moment, with OEMs like UMIDIGI and Huawei buying into the trend with the newly released S2 and Maimang 6 respectively. Blackview is the latest Chinese company to go that route, with the underdog set for the release of its bezel-less S8.
Blackview is known for its budget, rugged phones, so this may be new territory for the company. While it's a bit early to make a call on how good the S8 actually is, it does look solid on paper. It sports a 5.7-inch 18:9 display with a HD+ 720x1440 resolution, MT6750T, 4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 64 GB of storage, dual rear 13 MP cameras, dual selfie shooters, and a 3180 mAh battery. Not an overwhelming package by any means but one that most likely offers good value for money, if the company's pricing history is any indication.
Design-wise, the S8 does a decent enough job, though we're not quite impressed by Blackview's interpretation of a bezel-less display—there are obvious side bezels on it, and it has a sizeable chin.
The S8 will be available in Silk Gold, Coral Blue, and Magic Black.
