The new Model Y Juniper facelift comes with a redesigned frunk at the front of the vehicles that features a drain plug for the first time.
This makes it convenient to use it as a cooler during tailgate parties or camping trips in an impromptu fashion when there is nothing but ice around that can now be drained when it melts.
Needless to say, this is a less than ideal solution that may be fit for a teenage party, but not proper lugging around of cold beverages, so Tesla has now detailed the actual new Model Y cooler.
2026 Model Y accessory and cooler prices
The portable frunk cooler carries the Tesla logo and costs $275. It comes as a part of a big batch of new all-weather accessories tailored specifically to the 2026 Model Y refresh.
- Frunk liner: $80
- Rear trunk and seatback liner: $220
- Rear well liner: $65
- Interior liners with inlaid aluminum accents: $240
While new 2026 Model Y owners can use any of its affordable frunk coolers available on Amazon, the official one comes with the Tesla logo and is tailor-made to fit with its 29.8" x 17.4" x 11.5" (75.7cm x 44.2cm x 29.2cm) dimensions, offering 42 qt (40 L) of usable cooling volume.
The new Juniper refresh cooler would officially fit the old Model Y's frunk as well, and is crafted out of "durable, lightweight materials and high-quality insulation to keep perishables cold and ice frozen for days at a time," promises Tesla.
