The 2024 Model 3 Performance is coming with tailored Track Mode V3 and 'all-new calibration for the powertrain and adaptive suspension to give you more authority behind the wheel,' says Tesla.

Tesla is preparing to unleash the 2024 Model 3 Performance (yes, that will reportedly be the final naming scheme) very soon.

A deep dive in the code of its UK Design Studio has revealed the official description of most of its new features.

While the blurb that this is the "most powerful Model 3 ever" is expected, the detailing of the "all new high-performance drive units that deliver more than combined 500 horsepower" is somewhat disappointing, given the expected 600+ HP from the old front and the new rear motor.

Tesla hasn't yet filled in the source code's "0-60mph in {ACCELERATION} seconds" description, but if the power output number is correct, the rumor for 2.9 seconds Model 3 Performance acceleration could turn out credible in the end.

What Tesla will be focusing on during the 2024 Model 3 Performance announcement, however, are the design and performance improvements compared to its predecessor.

Track Mode V3

For starters, the rumored new adaptive suspension and lack of air tank turned out to be true. "All-new adaptive damping powered by in-house software gives you enhanced body control, without sacrificing daily usability or comfort," says Tesla.

The Model 3 Performance "bespoke chassis and suspension hardware" is apparently "tuned to provide intuitive, razor-sharp response to driver inputs," it continues.

In its recently leaked interface, a Track Mode option was clearly visible, and Tesla confirms so, detailing that it will be a brand new and unique experience to cause "driving euphoria" for all involved:

Track Mode V3 features all-new calibration for the powertrain and adaptive suspension to give you more authority behind the wheel. Plus, you can customize handling balance, stability controls and regenerative braking to set the car up how you like it.

The drivetrain upgrades also extend to the braking system, just as the numerous spy shots of the Model 3 Performance with big red calipers suggested. There is now apparently an "enhanced pedal feel and improved heat management to ensure consistent braking at all speeds and across a wider temperature range."

2024 Model 3 Performance design

All that racy acceleration, traction, and braking jazz leads to a sportier exterior as well. The more aggressive design styling is ensured by "redesigned front and rear fascias," as "the rear diffuser and carbon fiber spoiler give a unique look, and work together to optimize high-speed stability," just like on the spy shots of the car.

Inside, "the lightweight carbon fiber decor and refined weave pattern is unique to Model 3 Performance," reads Tesla, while "all-new seat design with enhanced side and cushion bolsters hold you in place, while ventilation keeps you cool."

Again, all features and details that have been revealed by the numerous leaks and sightings either of the test mule, or of the Model 3 Performance review units that Tesla recently showed to a number of YouTubers and assorted influencers.

Perhaps the only new design and performance element description is that of the "Forged Performance Wheels" which Tesla details as "lightweight, staggered wheels [that] provide sharper turn-in response, improved predictability, increased traction out of corners, and optimized aerodynamics."

Given that Tesla already held an embargoed preview of the car, and a number of RHD units were filmed waiting to be shipped to the UK at a port in China not long ago, the 2024 Model 3 Performance release could be imminent.

Tesla will be reporting some disastrous earnings next week, so it could choose to mitigate some of the damage with the announcement and release of what will probably be its only new vehicle to launch this year.
