According to Consumer Reports, Ford Mustang Mach-E is now the top electric car to pick in 2022, knocking down the Tesla Model 3 which held the mantle last year. Explaining the reason why the Mach-E is so highly rated, Consumer Reports’ Jake Fisher told CNBC,” Not only is it a really fun vehicle to drive, it is sporty, but it is also extremely mature. When I say that it rides nice, it is very quiet. I mean it really feels well built.”
Mustang Mach-E’s reliability, customer reviews, and independent testing were the driving factors that pushed the organization to label Mach-E as its “Top Pick”. Model 3, on the other hand, faltered in input-free driving. Per the testing done by Consumer Reports, Model 3 doesn’t warn the drivers as much as the Mach-E if they aren’t paying attention when the self-driving feature is engaged. The organization was also critical of Tesla’s steering yoke as it makes turning the steering wheel harder.
Finally, Tesla lost seven points and now occupies the 23rd spot among the 32 carmakers in the Consumer Reports’ rankings of the best automakers.
