Tesla is showcasing its CyberCab at five new US locations this weekend, offering the public a closer look at its fully autonomous ride-share vehicle.

Tesla is ramping up its CyberCab showcase by displaying the vehicle at five new locations across the United States this weekend. The company seems keen to generate buzz around its fully autonomous ride-share platform. The CyberCab will be available for public viewing at:

  • Century City, Los Angeles, CA
  • Gold Coast, Chicago, IL
  • Park Meadows, Lone Tree, CO
  • Tampa Westshore Blvd, Tampa, FL
  • Garden State Plaza, Paramus, NJ

Marketed as one of Tesla’s cheapest cars (if we don't put Model Q in the equation), priced under $30,000, the CyberCab uses only 40% of the parts seen in Tesla's Model Y while offering the added edge of Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology. Elon Musk has repeatedly laid emphasis on the vehicle’s minimalistic two-seater design, which is built for maximum efficiency and affordability. With the CyberCab ride-share platform also set to include Waymo-style redundancy systems like teleoperation, Tesla plans to initially launch its service in states like California and Texas where autonomous regulations are less restrictive.

All in all, these new displays look to be another critical phase in Tesla’s ongoing campaign to familiarize consumers with its first-ever purpose-built autonomous vehicle. While previous unveilings have only sparked public curiosity (and controversy), the upcoming showcase would aim to further solidify the CyberCab’s position as a class-leader in the emerging autonomous ride-hailing space. Competitors like Alphabet's Waymo and Amazon's Zoox are trying to establish a major presence. Waymo, in particular, has been expanding its robotaxi services in cities like San Francisco and Phoenix.

As the weekend approaches, interested visitors across these locations can get a firsthand glimpse of what could soon become another big cog of urban transportation.
