TTGO T-Watch: The customisable smartwatch now comes with a microphone for voice control
We last reported on the TTGO T-Watch in 2020, which Lilygo designed for hackers more than for end-users. The company has now updated the smartwatch though, which could change how you use it. Specifically, Lilygo has added a PDM microphone that the smartwatch controls via pulse-width modulation (PWM). Hence, the T-Watch should now be controllable using your voice.
Otherwise, the new T-Watch remains identical to last year's model. Hence, the smartwatch has a 1.54-inch touchscreen running at 240 x 240 pixels, an ESP32 dual-core processor, 8 MB of PSRAM, 16 MB of QSPI flash storage and a modem that supports Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 4. Lilygo has included an accelerometer, a vibration motor, a speaker, and an infrared sensor.
Meanwhile, the T-Watch has a 380 mAh battery, which Lilygo has fitted in a case that measures 40 x 47.45 x 13 mm. Overall, the smartwatch weighs 59 g. The T-Watch is available to purchase on AliExpress for US$29.47. Alternatively, the older model sells on Amazon for US$42.99.
