T-Mobile users in the United States who use a Galaxy Note Edge or a Galaxy Note 4 handset on their carrier's network are finally getting the July security patch. The handsets receive different firmware files, but the main part remains the same - the official security update that comes directly from Google and takes care of the most important security and privacy issues.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge receives software version N915TUVU2DPG2 as a 328 MB update, while its sibling gets two different firmware files, depending on the model. The firmware files for Galaxy Note 4 devices on T-Mobile are labeled N910TUVU2EPG2 (309 MB) and N910T3UVU2EPG2 (281 MB).
These updates roll out in stages as usual, so it may take a while for it to reach all targeted devices that are located in various regions across the United States. Obviously, those who did not get the push notification yet can always check manually via Settings > About Device > Software Update > Update Now.
