If you're looking for a fresh MMO experience, BitCraft Online might just catch your attention. Unlike traditional titles like World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XIV, the focus here isn't on combat but on shaping a shared world. Building, crafting, farming and connecting with others take center stage, making it an MMO that emphasizes collaboration over conflict. We first covered the game back in March.
Terraforming lies at the heart of BitCraft Online, giving players the power to reshape the landscape in lasting ways. Whether it's redirecting rivers, cultivating fields or founding settlements in untouched wilderness, every change leaves a permanent mark on the persistent world. This creates a dynamic ecosystem that evolves over time, where each action can have far-reaching effects. Developing a valley for agriculture or building a trade network with other players doesn’t just alter the scenery – it also shapes the game’s economy and social fabric.
Character progression in BitCraft Online takes a different route than in traditional MMORPGs. Instead of picking a fixed class, your character's skills evolve naturally based on the activities you pursue. Spend time farming, and you'll become more efficient at it. Focus on crafting or architecture, and your building abilities will steadily improve. This organic system encourages players to explore freely and shape their own unique path through the game.
The wait is over: Early Access starts June 20
BitCraft Online is undoubtedly one of the most eagerly anticipated new MMO releases. According to the developers, the game recently surpassed 200,000 wishlists on Steam. It also ranked among the Top 50 most played demos during the Steam Next Fest.
On June 20, over 200,000 gamers will finally get to dive into BitCraft Online as it launches in Early Access on Steam for $30. The game is planned to go free-to-play at full release, but no final launch date has been announced yet.
Update: As the developers announced on X, the Early Access launch will be delayed by one week and will now take place on June 27. The reason: according to the developers, Steam has not yet approved the Early Access build, which was reportedly submitted several weeks ago.
