Steam Link on sale for $15

Every year the Steam Summer Sale is like Christmas in July for PC gamers. The highly anticipated annual string of deals slashes prices on thousands of games and software. Savvy bargain hunters will also note that Valve’s hardware lineup has also received a price-cut. Particularly, the company’s game-streaming device, the Steam Link, is being offered for $14.99 on the Steam Store and on Amazon. Typically retailing for $49.99, it is rare to find the Link being offered for under $20, even during other sales.

Unfortunately, there’s a catch. Don’t expect to get your new Steam Link right away if you order through Amazon, as the product page states that orders “usually ship within 1 to 2 months”. Additionally, there’s the added cost of shipping regardless of whether you order through Amazon or directly through Steam. Thankfully, Amazon offers free shipping on orders over $25, so it might be a good excuse to add a Steam Controller (also on sale for $34.99) or a Steam Gift Card if you also intend on picking up some games. Otherwise, the Steam Store also offers the Steam Link bundled with a controller for $45, but shipping will cost an additional $12.

If you don’t mind waiting a while for shipping, the Link is a steal at $15. Acting as a receiver for games (or even video) streamed from your home PC, the Link makes it easier to enjoy your favorite PC games from the comfort of the living room couch. The Steam Summer Sale will run from June 22^nd to July 5^th, so act soon if you plan on grabbing the Link at this discount price.
