Over the past week, we have covered quite a few exciting games available at lucrative prices on Steam, ranging from an award-winning VR title to a fan-favourite space combat game. Now, a decently well-reviewed roguelike game is also on sale on the platform, available with a lucrative 50% discount on Steam for a limited time.
Reignbreaker: A medievalpunk rebellion story
Dubbed Reignbreaker, the self-proclaimed 'medievalpunk' title is set in a high-tech dystopian world ruled by an evil queen who has gained mind control of the population thanks to a mysterious signal that she broadcasts out into her world. The game's lead character, Clef, has somehow managed to escape the Queen's mental sorcery, and is on a quest to put an end to her tyrannous reign.
Now, what makes Reignbreaker unique is the game's explosive and customizable combat with a huge arsenal of weapons including motorized javelins and multiple power-ups. The game boasts a thrilling and fast-paced gameplay experience that creates a satisfying combat loop which feels visceral and strategic at the same time. The game's built-in heat bar system will limit how often heavy offenses can be used, and players are also expected to go through gauntlets and earn virtual dollars to buy upgrades between runs.
That said, certain reviews of the game did note a somewhat odd progression style. Moreover, some folks may also find Reignbreaker to be a bit too repetitive, due to a slight lack of content diversity. Apart from these, there appear to be no other sources of complaint with the game, as revealed by its predominantly positive reviews from critics. 81% of the game's reviews on Steam are also positive.
Limited-time deal: $4.99 until July 24th
As mentioned previously, the $9.99 game is available with a 50% discount that drops its price down to just $4.99. Interested gamers are advised to note that this deal is valid until the 24th of July only. The system requirements are pretty modest as well, with the developers recommending systems with RTX 3060-class (curr. $279.99 on Amazon) graphics horsepower. Further, Steam Deck owners will be pleased to note that the game is Steam Deck-verified.
