Deal | Steam Deck-compatible top-down roguelike becomes free game for limited time

Steam has discounted a fairly well-rated top-down roguelike title by 100%. The current free game in the spotlight is Dracomaton, and it will stay at $0 until August 4, 2025 UTC 16:00.

Released in 2023, Dracomaton is centered on Eclipse, which is a small robot finding itself in an abandoned factory. Players need to fight their way through a tower, and one of the game's core highlights is the ability to switch between different playstyles by using "Forms."

Each of these "Forms" brings unique strengths and weaknesses, and there's a "mini-objective" gameplay loop that encourages tactical play. This currently free game on Steam also offers the ability to modify the existing forms by combining the traits from the other ones, and this feature enables the creation of numerous combinations.

Players who have tried it also note that Dracomaton has fast-paced combat, and the mod system adds a layer of depth to it. There are two challenging bosses, and the title offers a rich lore that involves the factory and cosmic dragons.
