Specs of Vivo's new slim phone detail a 6,500mAh battery in a 7.19 mm body
Vivo recently announced the X200 series of flagship smartphones which have been praised as camera power houses. Now, the manufacturer seems to be preparing a new phone whose specs have revealed that it will pack a big battery while boasting a slim and lightweight body.
The phone which has model number V249A was spotted in the database of China's communication agency and is believed to be the Vivo S20. The specs point at a premium mid-range smartphone with a pretty big battery in a slim body.

The specs listed in the database reveal the phone has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 2800 x 1260 resolution. It will be powered by a 2.63 GHz processor believed to be the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. The phone will be available in 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB RAM variants with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options.
For its cameras, the back will house a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide angle camera while a 50MP sensor will be in front for selfies and video calls.
The more interesting part of the spec sheet is the battery which is rated 6,365mAh (typical capacity should be 6,500mAh) and is squeezed into a body that is just 7.19 mm thick and weighs 185.5 grams. While this is amazing for a phone, it isn't too surprising for a Vivo smartphone.
The Vivo S19 announced in May 2024 has a 6,000mAh battery in a body that is also 7.19 mm thick but heavier at 193 grams. It was able to achieve this as a result of Vivo's Blue Ocean technology which allows for a battery with a higher energy density than standard batteries. It appears Vivo has been able to improve the battery technology since this phone has a bigger battery capacity but the same thickness as the Vivo S19.
There's no info on when the alleged Vivo S20 smartphone will be announced but it may be exclusive to China.
