Spec-bumped Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra on the cards according to latest rumors
It is rumored that there will be a 1 TB variant of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which is a decent step up from the models that have already supposedly leaked. At the moment, there have been details about a 12 GB + 256 GB model of the S22 Ultra and a version with the same amount of RAM but a storage bump up to 512 GB. However, there is now the likelihood of a 1 TB S22 Ultra on the horizon…that could come with a whopping 16 GB RAM.
Considering the S22 Ultra will be a mainstream premium device rather than a gaming phone, such specs would certainly send it into the smartphone stratosphere in terms of storage and memory power. But it seems anyone interested in getting their hands on the 1 TB + 16 GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will need to be in the right place at the right time to get one.
According to Ishan Agarwal, who has a great track record when it comes to tech leaks, this monster S22 Ultra will possibly only be available in “select regions”, with Europe getting a specific mention, which could leave some wags to say that this could make up for the presence of an Exynos 2200 SoC rather than a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. In addition, another source reckons the 1 TB S22 Ultra could get a delayed launch and not be part of the expected Galaxy S22 series launch in February.
Of course, if such a 16 GB + 1 TB titan exists, it could rival many laptops on the market at the moment, especially in terms of RAM. Naturally, there would be a high price to pay for a Samsung smartphone that can easily outmuscle a laptop though, and with a leak stating a €1,544.50 (US$1,763) price tag for the 12 GB + 512 GB Galaxy S22 Ultra, the mind boggles at what a higher-specced model could cost. It could even be close to an extravagant €2,000 (US$2,283).
