These two waterproof wearables are expected to be unveiled on September 4 at the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin.

Sony has not officially confirmed anything yet, but it seems that SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk will be unveiled on September 4. While no high quality images can be found yet, some specs of these two wearables leaked online already.

Sony SmartWatch 3 is expected to come loaded with Android Wear and to pack a 1.68-inch display with 320X320 pixels. It will also be IP58-certified, but other details are not available at this time.

The fitness tracker known as SmartBand Talk will probably feature a curved e-ink display and Bluetooth connectivity, so it will provide notifications from the smartphone. Unfortunately, this is all the info about it that went public so far, but considering its name, SmartBand Talk will probably feature speech recognition as well.

Obviously, all the above should still be taken with a grain of salt until Sony's IFA 2014 press conference which will take place in just three days. We will surely hear more about their new wearables then, so stay tuned.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
