Early Black Friday deals are already in full swing, as is evidenced by the likes of the Asus ROG Ally, which is down $150 from its regular MSRP. Sony has just also joined the fray with a discount on the Sony A6600, bringing the APS-C mirrorless camera down to just $998. 

While the Sony A6600 has since been replaced by the A6700, that doesn't mean the A6600 is any less capable. The A6600 still features 5-axis in-body image stabilisation, weather sealing, 4K at up to 30 fps and 1080p video at up to 120 fps. While it's not a 4K powerhouse, the Sony A6600 is still likely to serve the average hobbyist with family and travel photography needs, or a vlogger looking for an out-and-about camera, quite well. 

For those dismayed at the price of the recently announced Sony A6700 (curr $1,398 on Amazon), or those simply looking for a high-quality, capable, and robust walk-about camera, the A6600 makes for a solid alternative. At the current Amazon price, the A6600 is less than $2 away from its lowest-ever price, and it can be had with a solid 18-135 mm kit lens for just $1,398, making the lens and body cheaper than even Fujifilm's recent X-T50, which costs $1,399 for the body alone.
