Smartphone running Windows 11 will ship in March

The NexPhone was originally announced back in January, and was scheduled to ship in the third quarter of 2026. However, the third quarter has passed, and no NexPhone has been delivered to customers so far. Nex Computer now explains in a blog post that shipments are expected to be delayed until March 2027. At least this time is to be used to further optimize the software.
Anyone interested despite the delay can already reserve the NexPhone in the manufacturer's online store. The device costs $599, and a deposit of $199 is required when placing a reservation. The NexPhone's standout feature is its software, as the device ships with no fewer than three operating systems, which users can switch between whenever they restart the device.
The NexPhone supports Android 17, Debian (Linux), and Windows 11. To make Microsoft's desktop operating system easier to use on a smartphone, Nex Computer has developed a special mobile user interface in the style of Windows Phone. A monitor, keyboard, and mouse can be connected via the included USB hub with an HDMI port to turn the smartphone into a desktop computer. Alternatively, Nex Computer offers an optional laptop dock.
The hardware is on par with that of a typical mid-range smartphone, as the NexPhone is based on the Qualcomm QCM6490, which is comparable to the Snapdragon 778G . It also comes with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card. The 6.58-inch IPS panel offers a 1080p+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The smartphone, which is 13.1 mm thick and weighs 256 grams, has a 5,000 mAh battery that can also be charged wirelessly. A 64 MP main camera, a 13 MP ultrawide camera, and a 10 MP selfie camera round out the specifications.
