SanDisk has announced a new flash drive that is quite colorful, literally. The SanDisk Crayola USB-C Flash Drive has a design inspired by Crayola's crayons. While it is suitable for everyone, Sandisk's target audience seems to be kids.
Available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacities, the SanDisk Crayola USB-C Flash Drive can be purchased in Cerulean Blue, Electric Lime, and Mango Tango. The flash drive can be used to store assignments, art projects, photos, games, and books, and will work with devices with a USB-C port, such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
The flash drive is also compatible with the SanDisk Memory Zone app (available for Windows, iOS, and Android), which owners can use to organize and back up their files. The SanDisk Crayola USB-C Flash Drive has USB 3.2 Gen 1, which has a max theoretical speed of 5 Gbps (625 MB/s). Considering it's targeted at kids, it is surprising it doesn't have a water resistance rating or a rugged build.
Pricing for the SanDisk Crayola USB-C Flash Drive starts at $14.99 for the 64GB version and goes up to $19.99 for the 128GB version. The 256GB version is the most expensive one at $28.99, which makes it more expensive than the premium but boring SanDisk Luxe USB-C Flash Drive (256GB) sold for $24.95 on Amazon.
In partnership with Crayola, every purchase of the SanDisk Crayola USB-C Flash Drive includes a 3-month subscription to the Crayola Create and Play app. To redeem the subscription, users need a new account and an internet connection. They also have to redeem the offer on or before December 31, 2027.
