Ugreen already offers various network-attached storage devices and is now expanding its lineup with the NASsync DH2300. This model is now available and prospective buyers can benefit from an early bird discount until November 9. Specifically, the NAS can be ordered for $189 instead of $209.
The DH2300 is an entry-level NAS with two bays. With two 3.5-inch hard drives, the device can be equipped with a total of 60TB of storage, which is a lot and should suffice for most users. Unfortunately, M.2 SSDs for superfast caching are not supported.
Nonetheless, Ugreen opted for the RK3576 SoC with 8 cores and 4GB LPDDR4X RAM. The Ugos Pro operating system is installed on the 32GB of eMMC storage. The maximum data transfer rate is likely limited by the SoC as well as the network connection. The Ethernet port supports Gigabit speed and is therefore limited to about 125 MB/s. For users who want to edit 4K video, this could certainly be a limiting factor.
The DH2300 further sports two USB Type-A and one USB Type-C port, all three have a bandwidth of 5Gbps. An HDMI port is available as well and can be used to hook up monitors or displays with 4K at 60Hz. The brand also advertises a relatively large range of features that go beyond the usual data storage. For example, AI photo recognition is supported thanks to an NPU with 6 TOPS. As usual, users can adjust numerous privacy settings, which allows the creation of private folders, among other things.
