Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is now available in most regions worldwide but international availability of the Note Edge has not been announced yet, as this limited edition device can only be found in South Korea for the time being. Samsung has just announced a package of "exclusive, pre-paid or discounted subscriptions and offerings" for these two devices. The items in the package come from no less than two dozens of world leading mobile content and service providers.

This program continues the similar ones that applied to Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy S5. While the gifts package only consists of digital products their list is quite consistent, as you can see below:

  • Productivity - Dropbox (50 GB for two years), ArtRage, RealPlayer Cloud (6-month Premium access), Hancom Office, SketchBook, Parallels Access (6-month remote access for up to 5 computers)
  • Entertainment - OnLive (3-month subscription), 100% Games (up to $30 USD worth of gems in Dungeon Hunter 4 and more)
  • News & Reading - Audible (3-month subscription), NYTimes (12-week subscription), Bloomberg Businessweek+ (1-year subscription), Kindle for Samsung (one free book per month), The Wall Street Journal (6-month subscription)
  • Lifestyle and others - Magisto (3-month Premium subscription), PayPal (various special deals), Camera Ace, Life360 (6-month subscription), Perfect365, Workout Trainer (6-month Pro+ membership), TripAdvisor (various special features)

The subscription periods offered for free and their availability may depend on carrier and region. For example, AT&T devices in the US that qualify for this package only receive 50 GB of free Dropbox storage for six months instead of the 2-year period mentioned by Samsung in the press release.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
