Samsung officially launches new Galaxy M series phone with 6,000mAh battery

Samsung has expanded its budget-friendly Galaxy M series with a new addition: the Galaxy M47 5G. The smartphone has launched in India, with no details on availability in other regions.

It features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits. Notably, the screen uses Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ for protection.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, featuring four Arm Cortex-A78 performance cores and four Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The chipset was also used in the Galaxy A36 5G (curr. $310 on Amazon). The M47 5G comes with 6GB/8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device also supports expandable storage via a microSD card (up to 2TB).
The Galaxy M47 5G features a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. It has a 12MP front camera.
The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging and also supports bypass charging. In terms of software, the device boots One UI 8.5 based on Android 16, with the brand promising 6 generations of OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates.

The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G comes in Rogue Red and Blaze Blue colorways. The base variant has an effective starting price of ₹22,999 (~$243), with a coupon discount applied. Sales start on July 4 in India.
