Samsung Galaxy XCover FR and Galaxy A58 spotted in database

The launch of the next two mid-range Samsung Galaxy smartphones appears to be drawing nearer, as OVR Plus has already spotted the Galaxy XCover FR (model number SM-G778B) and the Galaxy A58 5G (model number SM-A5860) in the GSMA database. Apart from the names and model numbers, these database entries do not yet provide any details about the two smartphones. However, the entries are a clear indication that the launch is planned for the coming weeks or months.
The Samsung Galaxy XCover FR could be positioned as the successor to the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro ($594 on Amazon). The Galaxy XCover series is characterized by a particularly rugged design – the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro is not only IP68-certified and therefore waterproof, but the smartphone is also said to withstand drops from a height of 1.5 meters, while increased touchscreen sensitivity is designed to make it easier to use with touchscreen-compatible gloves. With a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 120 Hz LCD with 1,080p+resolution, and a removable 4,350 mAh battery, the smartphone offers typical mid-range specifications.
No further details are available yet about the Samsung Galaxy A58 5G either, but based on our review of the Galaxy A57 5G, we’d like to see a few improvements, such as longer battery life, a telephoto camera, a display with less noticeable PWM flickering, and a faster USB-C port. The Galaxy A57 did, after all, score points with a slim, water-resistant body, a snappy Exynos 1680, a bright 120 Hz Super AMOLED display, and six years of update support.
