After multiple rumors about the next-gen flagships by Samsung, the official date of the company's next Unpacked event is no longer a secret. Samsung's announcement confirms some recent leaks that mentioned February 21st as the date of Galaxy Unpacked 2016. However, there are still many details not unveiled yet.

According to Samsung Newsroom, the doors will open at 18:00 CET and the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event will kick off one hour later, on Sunday, February 21st. The location chosen is Barcelona's International Convention Center (CCIB), located on the Diagonal Mar seafront.

At least one new Galaxy flagship will be unveiled next month, and this might happen through a special event that allows watchers to experience it via the Gear VR. Samsung also revealed that Galaxy Unpacked 2016 will be streamed live on YouTube and Samsung Newsroom, but we will surely hear more details in the coming weeks.

Although I have been writing about new software and hardware for almost a decade, I consider myself to be old school. I always enjoy listening to music on CD or tape instead of digital files and I will not even get into the touchscreen vs physical keys debate. However, I also enjoy new technology, as I now have the chance to take a look at the future every day. I joined the Notebookcheck crew back in 2013 and I have no plans to leave the ship anytime soon.
