Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 specs leak in benchmark listing

Teaser
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 has surfaced in a leaked benchmark result. The main highlights of the tablet include an octa-core Exynos 5 processor with 3GB of RAM.

A couple of weeks ago, we reported on the fact that Samsung is rumored to be working on the second generation of Galaxy Tab S tablets. Just a few days ago, we've had the first set of rumored specs for the two new SAMOLED tablets. Building up on that news, today the 9.7-inch version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 surfaced in a leaked benchmark result, one that confirms most of the previously rumored specifications.

The leaked GFXBench result reveals that the tablet will make use of a 9.7-inch display running a resolution of 2048 by 1536 pixels at an aspect ratio of 4:3. This aspect ratio was made popular by the Apple iPad series, but more recently Android tablet manufacturers have started adopting it as well. The Apple iPad Air 2 and the HTC Nexus 9 both feature the exact same display resolution and aspect ratio. Although the benchmark lists a display size of 9.6 inches across the diagonal, there's reason to believe that this is an error in the way the benchmark reports the screen size.

As far as the internal hardware is concerned, the benchmark lists specs such as an octa-core Exynos 5 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of integrated storage space, a 7MP rear camera, and a 2MP secondary sensor. On the software side, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is listed as running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, most likely overlaid with a new version of Samsung's Touchwiz interface.

A previous rumor coming from a very credible source mentioned that the second-generation Galaxy Tab S devices will come with a metal frame. The 9.7-inch version is said to be incredibly thin at rumored dimensions of 237.1 x 168.8 x 5.4mm.
