Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra runs Fallout 4 and many other PC games with more than playable frame rates
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 might be more capable than you thought it to be. ETA Prime on YouTube has shown off the Galaxy S24 Ultra running a good number of PC games with an emulator called Winlator. While the emulator doesn't officially support the SoC, modified versions offer a workaround.
As for the PC games that were run by the phone in the video, they include some of the classics such as Fallout 4, Far Cry, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, and Bioshock Remastered. The emulator, however, is capable of running more games, including Cuphead, which can run at a steady 60 FPS on the Galaxy S24 Ultra (512 GB curr. $1,240 on Amazon).
To get a PC-like gaming experience, ETA Prime utilized the Samsung DeX function. This allowed easy display output with an interface that's very much like Windows. Also, while the modified version of Winlator has support for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it runs in what seems to be Chinese, and ETA didn't find the option to change the language to English.
Another thing to note is that ETA couldn't get Steam installed on Winlator. So, for the video, the YouTuber relied on GoG game installers and mentioned that repacks of DRM-free games would also work. Overall, at the current stage, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 of Galaxy S24 Ultra showed promising performance on the modified emulator. With optimizations, the gaming performance can be much better.
