The Samsung Galaxy C series has been in the rumor mill for a while, and now a device that appears to be the Galaxy C5 has just been spotted on Geekbench. Although this new family of products is expected to target the mid-range area of the market, insiders who spoke to SamMobile China revealed all the Galaxy C handsets will use thin metallic bodies.
The first two devices in the series that were mentioned by online rumors so far are the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7. According to the Geekbench database entry, the first of the two is powered by the 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC and has 4 GB of memory. It also runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but that should not come as a surprise.
SamMobile also reveals that Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy C series exclusively on the Chinese market. The new handsets are expected to come out next month, but global availability might follow after a while as well. However, that remains to be seen.
