Deal | Samsung 990 PRO Heatsink edition SSD with 2 TB drops to all-time low on Amazon
One year ago, the regular iteration of the Samsung 990 PRO SSD visited our labs for an in-depth review that revealed a reliable PCIe 4.0 drive with strong performance that does not falter when subjected to prolonged intensive loads. The tests conducted have also shown excellent write performance when compared to the Samsung 980 PRO, as well a more efficient design. The Heatsink edition of this SSD, which is PlayStation 5-compatible and should match most of our findings, was listed on Amazon mid-May 2023 and is now at the lowest price so far, according to price tracker Camelcamelcamel.
The 2 TB Samsung 990 PRO SSD in its Heatsink edition (model name MZ-V9P2T0CW) is now available for US$138.99, a price that has been dropping since this morning (it was US$140.13 earlier today, followed by a minor slide to US$139.48 around noon) and could continue its evolution until the existing stock runs out.
Introduced at US$149.99, a list price still displayed on Amazon, the 1 TB Samsung 990 PRO with heatsink is now 40% off, so it can be acquired for US$89.99. However, this is not its lowest price so far, since it was available for US$10 less in the second part of September.
The Samsung 990 PRO family has 2,808 ratings on Amazon so far, which led to a general score of 4.8/5 stars. Unfortunately, the 4 TB version with heatsink is not available at this time. Thankfully, the vanilla one (model MZ-V9P4T0B/AM) is now at the lowest price in 30 days and can be acquired for US$279.99 instead of US$$344.99.
